Findlay

Findlay is the second largest city in Northwest Ohio with a population of over 40,000. The nickname "Flag City USA" was given to Findlay in the 1960s after a man named John Cooke provided everyone in the community with small American flags for Flag Day. The designation was made official in 1974 by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Findlay's nickname is a part of the town's culture, along with its annual festivals. The annual Flag City Balloon Fest is held in August, and offers many different activities ranging from hot air balloon rides, Balloon Glow, and a car and motorcycle show. In addition to the Balloon Fest, Findlay hosts a wine festival, Oktoberfest, a Rib-off, and more.

UF is known for its notable equestrian programs, the Nuclear Medicine Institute, and the Mazza Museum, which houses the largest collection of original artwork by children's book illustrators.

Marathon Petroleum Company and Cooper Tire & Rubber Company are both headquartered there and it's home to a Whirlpool manufacturing facility. Best Buy, Lowe's, and Campbell Soup Company all have distribution centers in Findlay.
